Vida Nueva of Southeast Tennessee Update

Greetings to the VNSETN community!!

WOW! What a great set of weekends for our community. Welcome to our new butterflies. The weekends are over, and we are now preparing for weekend #3 in September.

Plan on coming to the “La Vida Loca” party at the Apison Retreat Center on March 23rd, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. There will be some crazy games, good food, lively praise and worship, and some powerful testimonies. Bring a desert to share. You are welcome to bring family and friends who have not attended a VN weekend and use the party as a recruiting tool.

The governing body of VNSETN is the Council. The Council is made up of adults and youth who make the decisions that guide the community. Our next Council meeting is March 18, 2019 at 6:30pm at the Apison Retreat Center in the Chapel. The Council meetings are open to all VNers and others desiring to support VNSETN. Whether you are an adult member or youth member, we have a place for you and would value your input. We have several Council positions described below that we will be filling this month:

  • Communications – Responsible for communicating with our community through various social media platforms and serves as the Administrator of those media sites. This person participates in the overall guidance and planning of VNSETN activities. This an ideal position for some of our younger members.
  • Youth Representatives – This can be a team of two of our youth members (under 25), preferably one female and one male. They would provide a youth’s perspective and input for our community and activities.
  • Men’s Leader – Responsible for training new Directors and assisting in team formation for the weekends.

To be eligible for these positions you must have participated in a VN weekend, preferably several weekends. In addition, the Men’s Leader must have served as Tres Dias Rector or VN Director. If you would like more information or to be considered for any of these positions, contact Ray Newby at rlnewby@epbfi.com or 423-488-5478.

The Directors for our fall weekends (September 6-8 and 13-15, 2019) are starting team formation now. If Karen Reno or Barry Eaton contact you, please respond to them in a timely manner. Please visit our website www.vnsetn.org for more information. We will transition to online candidate applications for future weekends, but paper applications will still be accepted. Also, watch the website to sign up on the list desiring to serve future weekends. As we grow our community, not everyone who desires to serve may be able to serve immediately, but keep on applying to serve.

De Colores!
